For the first time in its more than 70-year history, Bob Hope’s storied compound in Toluca Lake is getting poised to change hands. Built as the late comedian’s dream home in 1939, the 87,000-square-foot lot is about to be listed on the real estate market, and there’s already some interested buyers lining up, according to the Tolucan Times. The property is located at 10346 Moorpark Street, an address where kids in the area knew they could score full-sized candy bars and silver dollars on Halloween, the Tolucan Times reports. Hope’s house is 15,000 square feet in size and has eight bedrooms, 11 bathrooms and sits on an 87,000-square-foot lot. No exact price has been set yet. Hope lived at the compound until his death in 2003 at the age of 100, while his wife, Dolores Hope, died at 102 last year.
